INVESTIGATOR INITIATED CLINICAL TRIALS

The Clinical Trial Unit (CTU), Clinical Research Centre, is entirely dedicated to providing services for Investigator Initiated Clinical Trials. We wish to improve Malaysia’s contribution to the therapeutic evidence base, especially in therapy areas relevant to our population’s health. Our present contribution in this is sadly negligible, given the dearth of clinical trial publications from Malaysia. CRC believes that given the right supporting environment, Malaysian investigators could rise to the challenge.

Investigators will need money, skills and help. Clinical trial involves patients as human research subjects. Investigators will also need to comply with relevant government regulations and international ethical guidelines.

The Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) Programme was therefore developed to provide financial support and technical assistance to local investigators embarking on their own clinical trials.

CTU has an experienced and highly motivated multidisciplinary team, capable of providing a wide range of methodological, technical and project management services to underpin the successful completion of projects.

CTU offers services in practical assistance of compliance to trial regulations, trial insurance and professional indemnity, trial design and protocol development, study initiation and monitoring, pharmacovigilance, data management and training services among others.
