Malaysian Statistics On Medicines 2005
Published!!

The data of National Medicine Use Survey is published in our annual report: Malaysian Statistics On Medicines.

In this publication, you will find drug utilization patterns of public and private sectors, with comments written by experts of the field. Using the *WHO **ATC/DDD methodology, which is an international classification system for drug utilization research, this enable the Malaysian data to be compared with similar reports from other countries.

*World Health Organization
**ATC: Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification; DDD: Defined Daily Dose

We anticipate more and better reports in future on utilization trends over time, coverage of more therapeutic areas than in the first report, detailed analysis on pattern of use in particular important therapeutic areas such as cancer, more estimates on pharmaceutical expenditure, and so on.

For all these to happen, the NMUS looks forward to the continuing participation of hospitals and clinics that allow access to their data, as well as the doctors and pharmacists who participated in the medicines prescription and dispensing surveys. Without these data, there can be no report.
