NMCS_20122013 The fourth NHEWS (Hospital) report aims to document the availability and distribution of hospital facilities, services, medical devices and health workforce in Malaysia for the years 2012 & 2013. These domains are discussed in four respective chapters within the report. Unique to this report as compared to NHEWS reports of previous years are the focus on acute curative care hospitals, inclusion of military hospitals into the hospital population frame, and discussions regarding mammogram machines and activities. The current NHEWS (Hospital) study methodology has also been revised and improved based on experiences from past NHEWS (Hospital) studies.

Our third NHEWS report aims to provide consistent and reliable data on healthcare establishments, activities, selected devices and the workforce in the country. In addition, it was to show the trends in those activities. This report consists of six chapters. The first chapter covers the overall statistics on the acute curative hospitals. The other chapters examine the specific healthcare services are Acute curative hospital establishment survey, Maternity services survey, General surgical services survey, Oncology services survey, Psychiatry services survey and Ophthalmology services survey.

This second NHEWS technical report aims to review current status and capture consistent data regarding characteristics of both public and private healthcare establishments and services in Malaysia in the year 2010. The information gathered in the second year can now be compared to the first year to further improve quality and benchmark ourselves with international standards. Seven specialist services which were identified as priority fields under the 10th Malaysia Plan were reported in 2010. This includes Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Psychiatry, and Oncology.
