Idea Generation Workshop (19-20th July 2012)
This small-scale workshop aimed to bring along young researchers from different backgrounds to share and develop valuable ideas pertinent to clinical research. They comprised of clinicians, psychologists, nurses and administrators. A few ideas have emerged during workshop, for instance, (i) to estimate prevalence of migraine among late teens, (ii) diabetic retinopathy screening pathway evaluation, and (iii) association between stroke and body-mass-index (BMI).

Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR)” Video Training Session conducted by Dr Cheah Wee Kooi, Consultant Geriatrician from Taiping Hospital. (20th July 2012)
The CDR training was aimed at exposing the attending participants to the CDR components and to produce qualified CDR raters. They can then diagnose dementia based on this objective scale in their practice and refer patients to respective local memory clinic for further management. Besides, some of the qualified raters will participate in the DAIM project to validate CDR in Malay Language.
At the end of the training, all participants received certificates of acknowledgement for doing the training modules and passing the CDR examinations on lines from University of Washington, St. Louise. We now have 15 qualified CDR raters from Hospital Seberang Jaya. What an achievement!!
