About Us
The CRC Perak officially began functioning in March 2001 when the Hospital's Medical Advisor Committee (MAC) appointed Dato' Dr Amar-Singh HSS to head the CRC in Ipoh. Dr Jackie Ho and Dr Letchuman agreed to assist in the running and functioning of the CRC. With a warrant for RM 40,000 from the MOH to assist the CRC development, equipment including eight computers, a server, scanner and laser printer were purchased to allow for networking, internet access and training. The CRC Perak was initially based in the 9th floor of the hospital. The development of the Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC) has allowed for the CRC Perak to be housed in the new building. The CRC Perak has been established at its own facility at the ACC since early 2006 with bigger office space to accommodate work stations and administrative offices for the secretariat and clinicians as well as three meeting rooms and patient treatment areas. At its new premises, the CRC Perak currently has 16 computers and offers networking, broad band internet access, flat bed scanners, laser printers and video conferring facilities. In CRC’s effort to promote investigator initiated trials as well as to support industry sponsored trials, Clinical Trial Hub has been initiated in November 2010. The trial hub is established with medical fridge and freezer equip with Thermoguard alarm, centrifuge machine, single patient bed, printer and desk computer in order to support the clinical trials.
