About CRC
The Network of Clinical Research Centres (CRC) is one of the six research institutes under the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Ministry of Health Malaysia. It was established in the year 2000. Since then, it has expanded to 17 branches at major hospitals in Malaysia. The headquarters of CRC Network is at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

 

CRC’s Vision & Mission
• To become a leading clinical research organization in the Asian region
• To improve patients’ health outcomes through ethical and quality clinical research
• To attract biotechnology companies and contract research organizations to conduct clinical research in Malaysia

 

CRC’s Roles
• Promote, support and conduct investigator initiated research (IIR) by healthcare providers at MOH
• Coordinate and facilitate the conduct of contract industrial sponsored clinical trials
• Develop clinical data resources

 

CRC’s Research & Management Units
•1. Clinical Epidemiology Unit (CEU)
CEU, in meeting clinicians’ needs, conduct non experimental clinical/patient oriented studies. This covers diagnostic and prognostic studies.

1. Clinical Epidemiology Unit (CEU)

2. Patient Registry Unit (PRU)
PRU promotes and supports the establishment and operation of clinical databases and patient registries in Malaysia as clinical data resources.

3. Health Statistic Unit (HSU)
HSU supports the conduct of healthcare statistic surveys to collect data on healthcare services, physical facilities, human resources, medicines and medical
technology available in the country. HSU helps to develop the statistical capacity in Malaysia which aims to improve evidence base policy and decision making.

4. Clinical Trial Unit (CTU)
CTU promotes and supports Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT). CTU coordinates a wide range of methodological, technical and project management services to underpin the successful completion of projects.

5. One-Stop Centre (OSC)
OSC facilitates the conduct of contract research
